Centro de Estudos do ILMD promove palestra sobre divulgação científica e popularização da ciência
Com o objetivo de mostrar os principais cenários, diálogos de dificuldades e oportunidades, e como pode ser feito o trabalho de divulgação científica e popularização da ciência, a partir das mídias existentes e do papel social que as instituições de pesquisa devem exercer, a palestra desta semana do Centro de Estudos do Instituto Leônidas e Maria Deane (ILMD/ Fiocruz Amazônia), terá como tema: “Divulgação científica e popularização da ciência: responsabilidade social”.
O assunto será abordado pelas pesquisadoras, Maria Olívia Simão, professora da Universidade Federal do Amazonas (UFAM) e pela jornalista, Cristiane Barbosa, doutoranda em Ciências da Informação pela Universidade Fernando Pessoa (UFP/Portugal), nesta sexta-feira, 23/6, às 9h, no Salão Canoas, na sede do ILMD/Fiocruz Amazônia, à rua Teresina, 476, Adrianópolis, zona centro-sul de Manaus.
Para Maria Olívia, a comunicação do que se faz nos laboratórios precisa chegar até a comunidade. Ela destaca que a sociedade é quem subsidias as pesquisas com o pagamento de impostos, principalmente na área da saúde que é um dos temas que mais desperta interesse da população.
Sobre a oportunidade de falar a respeito desta temática na programação do Centro de Estudos, a pesquisadora ressalta a importância desta sensibilização como parte da formação acadêmica. “Esse espaço tem como público prioritário os alunos de pós-graduação e iniciação científica, então é importante que eles recebam na formação essa sensibilização, para que cheguem no mercado como profissionais mais aptos a lidar com essa realidade”, enfatizou Simão.
PIONEIRISMO
Visando oferecer formação profissional e acadêmica na área de divulgação e jornalismo científico em saúde na Amazônia, capacitar para os processos gerais e técnicas, e aprofundar a reflexão sobre divulgação e jornalismo científico em saúde, com ênfase no contexto Amazônico, o ILMD/Fiocruz Amazônia, já formou duas turmas do curso de especialização em Divulgação e Jornalismo Científico em Saúde na Amazônia.
O curso foi realizado pela Fiocruz Amazônia e o Instituto de Comunicação e Informação Científica e Tecnológica em Saúde (ICICT/Fiocruz RJ), com o apoio da Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado do Amazonas (Fapeam) e a Secretaria de Estado de Ciência, Tecnologia e Inovação do Amazonas (SECTI-AM).
Participaram da especialização aproximadamente 60 profissionais com formação em comunicação social e áreas afins, atuantes na mídia local e assessores de comunicação das Instituições de Ensino e Pesquisa; bem como profissionais de outras áreas com experiência na temática da Divulgação Científica na Amazônia.
SOBRE AS PALESTRANTES
Maria Olívia Simão é doutora em Biologia de Água Doce e Pesca Interior, e mestre em Entomologia pelo Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas da Amazônia (INPA), graduada em Licenciatura em Ciências Biológicas pela Universidade Federal do Amazonas (UFAM). Foi Secretária Executiva Adjunta de Ciência, Tecnologia e Inovação do Estado do Amazonas, Diretora Técnico Científica da Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado do Amazonas – FAPEAM e Diretora Presidente da FAPEAM.
Cristiane Barbosa é doutoranda em Ciências da Informação pela Universidade Fernando Pessoa (UFP/Portugal), Mestre em Ciências da Comunicação pela Universidade Federal do Amazonas (UFAM). É graduada em Comunicação Social, com habilitação em Jornalismo pela UFAM, especialista em Jornalismo Científico e Divulgação Científica em Saúde da Amazônia pelo (ILMD/Fiocruz Amazônia) e em Marketing Empresarial pela UFAM.

O Centro de Estudos do ILMD/Fiocruz Amazônia é um núcleo que oportuniza encontros, palestras, seminários e debates sobre diversos temas ligados à pesquisa e ao ensino para a promoção da saúde.
