Palestra vai abordar pesquisa clínica em envenenamentos por animais no Amazonas
O Centro de Estudos do Instituto Leônidas e Maria Deane (ILMD/ Fiocruz Amazônia) oferece nesta sexta-feira 5/5, às 9h, a palestra “Pesquisa clínica em envenenamentos por animais no Estado do Amazonas”, a ser ministrada pelo Dr. Welton Monteiro, professor do curso de mestrado em Biologia da Interação Patógeno Hospedeiro (PPGBIO-Interação), do ILMD/Fiocruz Amazônia, e pesquisador da Fundação de Medicina Tropical Heitor Vieira Dourado (FMT-HVD).
O objetivo é apresentar os recentes estudos, aspectos clínicos, epidemiológicos e terapêuticos dos envenenamentos por serpentes e outros animais peçonhentos. Na ocasião, o pesquisador vai falar sobre planejamento de estudos observacionais aplicados ao estudo da carga e de fatores associados aos envenenamentos, planejamento de estudos de prognóstico e estudos de intervenção aplicados à prevenção e terapêutica dos envenenamentos, e manejo dos envenenamentos baseado em evidências.
SOBRE O PALESTRANTE
Wuelton Monteiro é graduado em Farmácia-Bioquímica e mestre em Análises Clínicas pela Universidade Estadual de Maringá (UEM), doutor em Doenças Tropicais e Infecciosas pela Universidade do Estado do Amazonas (UFAM). Em 2016, foi credenciado como docente do curso de mestrado em Biologia da Interação Patógeno Hospedeiro, do ILMD/Fiocruz Amazônia.
Atualmente é pesquisador da Fundação de Medicina Tropical Heitor Vieira Dourado (FMT-HVD), onde atua na Gerência de Malária, desde 2011. É também professor adjunto da disciplina de Epidemiologia dos cursos de Graduação em Medicina da Universidade Federal do Amazonas (UFAM) e Universidade do Estado do Amazonas (UEA).
Wuelton é coordenador, membro do corpo docente permanente e professor das disciplinas de Epidemiologia, Bioestatística, Acidentes por Animais Peçonhentos e Diagnóstico Laboratorial das Parasitoses Humanas, dos cursos de mestrado e doutorado em Medicina Tropical, da UEA/FMT-HVD. A
