Palestra no ILMD sensibiliza pós-graduandos sobre divulgação e popularização científica
Com o tema: “Divulgação científica e popularização da ciência: responsabilidade social”, estudantes de pós-graduação, iniciação científica, bolsistas, pesquisadores e servidores do Instituto Leônidas e Maria Deane (ILMD/ Fiocruz Amazônia), discutiram na última sexta-feira, 23/6, sobre os principais cenários, dificuldades e oportunidades, alternativas de como pode ser feito o trabalho de divulgação científica e popularização da ciência, a partir das mídias existentes e do papel social que as instituições de pesquisa devem exercer.
O tema foi pauta do Centro de Estudos do Instituto, abordado pelas pesquisadoras, Maria Olívia Simão, professora da Universidade Federal do Amazonas (UFAM) e pela jornalista, Cristiane Barbosa, doutoranda em Ciências da Informação pela Universidade Fernando Pessoa (UFP/Portugal).
Para Maria Olívia Simão, “a comunicação e a necessidade de socializar informações é hoje um desafio mundial. Na Europa, existe pesquisas e dados que mostram como a sociedade está enxergando a ciência nos diversos países”, destacou.
Cristiane Barbosa salientou a importância da discussão sobre divulgação científica no processo de formação dos estudantes. “Esse é um momento de formação, em que esses estudantes vão começar a interagir dentro dessa perspectiva da ciência e verificar que levar o conhecimento à sociedade é crucial dentro do processo de formação de um pesquisador. Essa oportunidade que a Fiocruz Amazônia traz para os seus mestrandos, bolsistas, alunos de iniciação científica é fantástica, pois a sensibilização desses futuros e presentes pesquisadores vai fomentar uma cultura de divulgação científica mais fortalecida daqui pra frente”.
O mestrando do Programa de Pós-graduação em Ciências do Ambiente Sustentabilidade na Amazônia (PPG-CASA), da Universidade Federal do Amazonas (Ufam), Pedro Mariosa, relatou que a palestra o ajudou a entender melhor sobre o novo papel do pesquisador-divulgador. “O conhecimento adquirido aqui, me deixou um pouco mais seguro, pois eu tenho o hábito de produzir algumas coisas sobre as pesquisas que eu desenvolvo, e ainda tenho aquele medo de estar jogando fora a minha produção acadêmica, ou de ter que me preocupar também com essa aproximação com a sociedade, através desses meios. A palestra me deixou claro o meu papel enquanto pesquisador, e esse novo papel que eu tenho que desempenhar, que é o de divulgador científico”.
SOBRE AS PALESTRANTES
Maria Olívia Simão é doutora em Biologia de Água Doce e Pesca Interior, e mestre em Entomologia pelo Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas da Amazônia (INPA), graduada em Licenciatura em Ciências Biológicas pela Universidade Federal do Amazonas (UFAM). Foi Secretária Executiva Adjunta de Ciência, Tecnologia e Inovação do Estado do Amazonas, Diretora Técnico Científica da Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado do Amazonas – FAPEAM e Diretora Presidente da FAPEAM.
Cristiane Barbosa é doutoranda em Ciências da Informação pela Universidade Fernando Pessoa (UFP/Portugal), Mestre em Ciências da Comunicação pela Universidade Federal do Amazonas (UFAM). É graduada em Comunicação Social, com habilitação em Jornalismo pela UFAM, especialista em Jornalismo Científico e Divulgação Científica em Saúde da Amazônia pelo (ILMD/Fiocruz Amazônia) e em Marketing Empresarial pela UFAM.
