Palestra sobre periódicos científicos e políticas editoriais será apresentada no ILMD
Dando início às atividades de 2017, o Centro de Estudos do Instituto Leônidas e Maria Deane (ILMD/ Fiocruz Amazônia) promove nesta quinta-feira (26/01), às 14h, no Salão Canoas, auditório da Instituição, a palestra ” Periódicos científicos e políticas editoriais”, a ser ministrada pelos Doutores, Bernardo Horta, da Universidade Federal de Pelotas (UFPEL), e Carlos Coimbra, da Escola Nacional de Saúde Pública (ENSP), da Fundação Oswaldo Cruz (Fiocruz), ambos pesquisadores sêniores do ILMD.
O objetivo do encontro é promover uma conversa, informando e atualizando os pesquisadores do Instituto, sobre estratégias e tendências das principais revistas científicas para publicação nas áreas dos Programas de Pós-Graduação Stricto Sensu em Biologia da Interação Patógeno Hospedeiro (PPGBIO-INTERAÇÃO), e Condições de Vida e Situações de Saúde na Amazônia (PPGVIDA). O ILMD/Fiocruz Amazônia fica na Rua Teresina, 476, bairro de Adrianópolis, zona Centro-Sul de Manaus.
Segundo a coordenadora do Centro de Estudos, Cláudia Rios, a expectativa é que o espaço para debate tome maiores proporções este ano. “A gente espera que haja um maior volume de pessoas assistindo as palestras do Centro de Estudos. Já possuímos três programas de pós-graduação, então acredito que isso vá aumentar o público, melhorar as discussões e ampliar nosso espaço para discutir sobre ciência”, explicou.
A entrada é gratuita e podem participar estudantes de graduação e pós graduação, pesquisadores, professores e trabalhadores da área da Saúde. O Centro de Estudos do ILMD/Fiocruz Amazônia é um núcleo que oportuniza encontros, palestras, seminários e debates sobre diversos temas ligados à pesquisa e ensino para a promoção da saúde.
SOBRE OS PALESTRANTES
Carlos Coimbra é Bacharel em Ciências Biológicas pela Universidade de Brasília, Mestre em antropologia e Doutor em antropologia médica pela Indiana University, e pós-doutor pelo Five College Program in Medical Anthropology, University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Atualmente é pesquisador titular na ENSP/ Fiocruz e foi editor-chefe de Cadernos de Saúde Pública de 1993 a 2013, e bolsista de produtividade em pesquisa do Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico, nível 1B.
Além de ser autor de diversos artigos em periódicos nacionais e estrangeiros, Coimbra é autor do livro “The Xavante in Transition: Health, Demography and Bioanthropology in Central Brazil”, que recebeu o prêmio de melhor livro interdisciplinar da American Anthropological Association, Washington DC, em 2003.
Bernardo Horta é graduado em Medicina pela Universidade Federal de Pelotas, Mestre em Epidemiologia pela Universidade Federal de Pelotas e doutor em Epidemiologia pela McGill University. Atualmente é professor associado da Universidade Federal de Pelotas e bolsista de produtividade em pesquisa do Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico, nível 1A.
