For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but pro- phets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. The human motives and circumstances of their composition do not affect or diminish their divine origin and their inspiration by the Holy Spirit. Therefore, we are free to investi- gate the conditions of their emergence and formation and to find the most here explana- tion for their human origins, exploring also new solutions to longstanding riddles.
