In this bulletin, we refer to the number of current COVID infections within the community population; community in this instance refers to private residential households and it excludes those in hospitals, care homes or other institutional settings. This is based on statistical modelling of the trend in rates of positive nose and throat swab results. Estimates of infection rates over time are presented in Figure 1.
