Febre Amarela: até 9 milhões de doses da vacina por mês
O Instituto Tecnológico em Imunobiológicos (Bio-Manguinhos/Fiocruz), órgão vinculado ao Ministério da Saúde, é o maior produtor mundial da vacina contra a febre amarela. Bio-Manguinhos é também o principal fornecedor de vacinas do Ministério da Saúde e sua produção é feita a partir da previsão anual do Programa Nacional de Imunizações (PNI). Em situações de rotina, a produção mensal da vacina de febre amarela em Bio-Manguinhos é de 4 milhões de doses. Em função do aumento da demanda e da priorização por este insumo, atualmente a produção está em 6 milhões de doses. O Instituto, no entanto, tem capacidade para produzir 9 milhões de doses por mês, o que representam 108 milhões anuais.
As vacinas produzidas em Bio-Manguinhos são transportadas em caminhões frigoríficos para o Centro Nacional de Armazenamento e Distribuição de Imunobiológicos (Cenadi), permanecendo em câmaras frias até a aprovação dos lotes de vacinas e diluentes pelo Instituto Nacional de Controle de Qualidade em Saúde (INCQS/Fiocruz). Uma vez liberados os lotes, o Cenadi os envia em caixas térmicas para as coordenações estaduais de Saúde, que por sua vez encaminham para as centrais regionais, onde as vacinas ficam armazenadas. Então os representantes dos postos de vacinação retiram a quantidade necessária para um determinado período na região em que atuam.
Até quarta-feira (29/3) foram confirmados 574 casos de febre amarela no país. Ao todo, foram notificados 1.987 casos suspeitos, sendo que 487 permanecem em investigação e 926 foram descartados. Dos 282 óbitos notificados, 187 foram confirmados, 71 ainda são investigados e 24 foram descartados.
A vacinação de rotina para febre amarela é ofertada em 19 estados (Acre, Amazonas, Amapá, Pará, Rondônia, Roraima, Tocantins, Distrito Federal, Goiás, Mato Grosso do Sul, Mato Grosso, Bahia, Maranhão, Piauí, Minas Gerais, São Paulo, Paraná, Rio Grande do Sul e Santa Catarina) com recomendação para imunização. Vale destacar que na Bahia, Piauí, São Paulo, Paraná, Rio Grande do Sul e Santa Catarina a vacinação não ocorre em todos os municípios. Além das áreas com recomendação, neste momento também estão sendo vacinadas de forma escalonada as populações de Rio de Janeiro e Espírito Santo. As pessoas que vivem nesses locais devem tomar duas doses da vacina ao longo da vida.
Desde o início deste ano o Ministério da Saúde tem enviado doses extras da vacina contra a febre amarela aos estados que estão registrando casos suspeitos da doença, além de outros localizados na divisa com áreas que tenham notificado casos. No total, 20,6 milhões de doses extras foram enviadas para cinco estados: Minas Gerais (7,5 milhões), São Paulo (4,7 milhões), Espírito Santo (3,6 milhões), Rio de Janeiro (3,3 milhões) e Bahia (1,4 milhão). Além disso, foram distribuídas, desde janeiro deste ano, 4,1 milhões doses da vacina de rotina para todas as unidades da Federação.
