Abstract Mining activity is one of the most difficult and dangerous in the world. In recent years, significant and rapid development of communication technologies, bring important benefits for mining activities worldwide and have affected nearly every facet of the mining processes underground.
The infrastructure underground experiences a continuous development with daily changes because of the mining process itself. Therefore, this is one of the most difficult challenges to overcome in deploying a solid and reliable communication system underground.
