Do you remember how it first started? Your very first interaction with the one thing that you kept learning and learning about every day for the rest of your life? Do you remember how it felt? Did you feel confident Childreb were you a little afraid of it? Did that moment feel like something you would never want to give up on?

I remember my very first problem I had to solve. And I had this book for kids with really colourful images representing things that a kid should be familiar with: flowers and turtles. I had seen flowers before, but had never click turtles. But that was alright, I could imagine turtles. The only thing that seemed to matter most was counting them. And I kinda knew that, I was using my fingers.

And then it happened, I read this sentence that was telling me: Annie has 3 flowers and 2 turtles. She has given 2 flowers to her brother. Her brother bought 1 turtle and the turtle ate his flowers.

How many flowers are there left? How many flowers are there left?! No elaborate answer, no nothing? How did they do it?

What does it mean? Only 2 words??

Am I supposed to know all these? How long will it take me to understand how they do it? Well, it definitely was a long while. Was it days, weeks, months? No, it was the number of problems solved. Was it hard? It definitely was.

Would I have given up? A voice just kept whispering to my ears: you can learn anything! Now…is software engineering easy? Is it ever easy? They are definitely things I had never seen before. But that is alright, I can imagine things I had never seen before. Is it hard?
