One of those differences is that Kate and her husband Johnny Ben Lawson never get divorced in the book and Tully is part of a love triangle with them. In the book, Johnny and Kate get married after she gets pregnant with their daughter Marah. In the book like in the TV show , Kate has a rocky relationship with her daughter Marah, so Tully decides she wants to help fix things between them. Tully invites the mother-daughter duo onto her show The Girlfriend Hour, while Johnny is still working there as a producer, to discuss their relationship.
