The President will attend all games in which South Africa plays during the tournament. On the sidelines of the World Cup programme the President will in the afternoon of 6 June kick off youth month by attending the commemoration of the former Deputy Minister of Environmental Affairs and youth leader Peter Mokaba at Mankweng village in Limpopo. On Monday morning, 7 June he will join the Eastern Cape government in marking the anniversary of the Pondoland revolt in Flagstaff. The purpose is to promote the United Millennium Development Goal 2, education. On 9 June, he will mark the closing of schools for an extended World Cup period by visiting children at the Frances Vorwerg School for children with disabilities near Southgate, in Johannesburg.
