Fellow Triumph TR6ers, Two days ago whilst attempting to install refreshed rear suspensions, I discovered Scarlet73 has a serious rust issue. Her main support beam for the left rear wheel has essentially failed at the inner bolt holes.

All of my tapping was not no avail because of the suspension attachment bracket over the affected area. Oh well. I will be forced to separate the body from the frame in some fashion, this is starting to get into an auto mechanics area I have zero experience in. The engine is out, as well as the transmission, but son Four and I put the differential Trimph in before attempting the suspension attachment.

Interior is pretty cleaned out to the metal, and we were planning on taking the windshield off for further work. I am taking all suggestions on any methods for separating the body from the frame. I would like to avoid taking panels off, doors are an option. Thinking I will have to get a gantry crane of some sort, again suggestions welcomed.

Last edit at PM by malbaby. A mostly empty body is not that heavy, three or four decently strong guys can lift it off. Are you planning to replace the frame or repair the section. Call me crazy but that looks fixable. You can cut that face off.

In your case I could only be the one side. OK, My plan is to attempt to do it correctly, I don't want this issue to come back. So, separate the body from the frame. Buy the replacement frame section and weld in place.]
