Yes, it happened in Florida. Floridians made the right call. Florida lawmakers are likely to feel some pressure to intervene. Business interests are understandably apprehensive. The idea of finding more money for payroll right at this moment is probably terrifying to many small businesses across the state. After that, the minimum wage would be adjusted using the consumer price index.
Opponents of Amendment 2 found scant evidence of business failure related to the minimum wage increase in those states. Lawmakers can stand up for hardworking, low-income Floridians by standing down. Amendment 2 just changes the numbers.
