The combination of being a horror buff and finding out that the South Korean film industry has had a lot of success in the box office in the horror genre, left me wanting to explore the this genre through a new cultural lens. This interest in the horror genre and a desire to learn more about the South Korean industry served as the basis of this digital artifact. In order to do this, I documented my personal experiences while watching Train to Busan and Alive in order to understand the culture experience. Originally the digital artifact was going to consist of blog posts documenting my Autoethnographic experience with South Korea cinema. The use of participatory and constructivist Indigenous autoethnography places the lived experience of an Indigenous woman at the center of the study, using the Indigenous lens to respect the cultural values, beliefs, Reflcetion teachings of a community that remains largely overlooked in Eurocentric research.
