Fiocruz Amazônia promove 14ª Reunião Anual de Iniciação Científica
O Instituto Leônidas e Maria Deane (ILMD/Fiocruz Amazônia) realizará na próxima quinta-feira, dia 8/6, a 25ª Reunião Anual de Iniciação Científica (Raic) e 14ª Raic do ILMD, no âmbito do Programa de Iniciação Científica (Paic) e do Programa Institucional de Bolsas de Iniciação Científica (Pibic) da Fiocruz Amazônia de 2016/2017, com recursos da Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado do Amazonas (Fapeam) e do Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq).
Segundo o coordenador do Programa de Iniciação Científica e Tecnológica (Pic) da Fiocruz Amazônia, o objetivo da reunião é divulgar e avaliar 23 projetos de pesquisa de graduandos de diferentes Instituições de ensino de Manaus. “Essa é uma oportunidade de apresentar, avaliar e fazer uma reflexão sobre os trabalhos, de fazermos também uma avaliação indireta do orientador, no intuito de sabermos se ele soube formar aquele estudante, se soube despertar vocação científica no aluno”, destacou.
Entre os trabalhos apresentados há pesquisas nas áreas epidemiologia, parasitologia, imunologia, microbiologia, inovação tecnológica, científica e social. Segundo dados do PIC/ILMD, 75% dos alunos de iniciação científica que participaram do programa, desde seu início, conseguiram se formar como mestres e doutores, além de ter conseguido ingressar na Escola Nacional de Pública de Saúde (Ensp/Fiocruz).

SOBRE O PIC
O Programa de Iniciação Científica (PIC) do ILMD/Fiocruz Amazônia é desenvolvido em parceria com o CNPq e Fapeam, com o objetivo de despertar a vocação científica e incentivar novos potenciais entre estudantes de graduação, além de estimular pesquisadores a envolverem os estudantes em suas atividades científicas, tecnológicas e profissionais.
Para Pessoa, o programa tem obtidos resultados relevantes e mostra-se como uma importante abertura de oportunidades no campo científico. “Nesses últimos anos o programa evoluiu bastante, e temos quantitativos que mostram essa evolução. Temos estudantes publicando como autores de artigos em revistas científicas em nível internacional, com bom índice de impacto. Eles estão passando nos nossos cursos de pós-graduação e também em cursos de outras instituições, como o Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas da Amazônia (Inpa) e a Fundação de Medicina Tropical Doutor Heitor Vieira Dourado (FMT-HVD). Temos acompanhado nesses últimos dez anos o desenvolvimento desses estudantes e só tem melhorado”, relatou.
As apresentações ocorrem no Salão Canoas, auditório da Instituição, situado à rua Teresina, 476, Adrianópolis, zona centro-sul de Manaus.
